Rollan Maratov joined the Human-Computer Interaction division as a Student Assistant in October 2025.
He holds a BSc in Computer Science from Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan, where his thesis explored the use of Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) to enable text input without physical interaction or speech. Before joining the center, he worked as a full stack software engineer in the aerospace industry and as a UX/UI designer.
He started his masters in Human-Computer Interaction in September 2024. He is interested in Design for Social Connectedness — creating technologies that foster meaningful interpersonal interactions while upholding privacy and ethical considerations.
