The Center for HCI operates the Christian Doppler Laboratory Contextual Interfaces, which is a long-term co-operation with industrial partners. This laboratory examines contextual interaction from qualitativeconstructional, and methodological viewpoints. Apart from basic research activities focusing on methods and tools for contextual research, the laboratory explores the contexts “car” and “factory” from these three perspectives.

The laboratory is funded by the Christian Doppler Research Association that promotes the cooperation between science and business. The industrial partner for the context car is AUDIO MOBIL Elektronik GmbH located in Ranshofen. Infineon Technologies Austria AG and KEBA AG are the industrial partner for the context factory.
